The Freedoms entered the match in a four-way tie for first place in the league sitting at (4-3) on the season. Tonight was the fourth meeting of the season between the Freedoms and the New York Empire, who won two of the first three meetings.
Andy Roddick joined the Freedoms for the match just three days after being inducted into the International Hall of Fame.
